Gaucher Disease

Gaucher disease is an inherited syndrome that affects many of the body's organs and tissues.  It is very variable, with some people having severe disease, while others have such a mild form that they don't realize they have the condition. Carriers of this condition have no symptoms themselves but are at risk to have a child with Gaucher disease. Your risk of being a carrier depends on your family history and ethnicity.

Symptoms

  • Bone problems
  • Enlarged liver and spleen
  • Lung problems
  • Anemia

Causes/Risk Factors
